Quinton Sharp, 67, of Powell, formerly of Norma, passed away April 24, 2016, at his home.
Born in Scott County, December 13, 1948, he was preceded in death by his parents, Elwood and Rose Mary McDonald Sharp.
He was a member of Norma Missionary Baptist Church, taught for 11 years for the Scott County School System, worked for West Coal Corporation as a bolt machine operator and as a postal contractor for U.S. Postal Service, and served as a Scott County Commissioner in the late 1970s.
He is survived by his children, Leah Renee Sharp of Oneida, and James Elwood Sharp of the Norma community; grandchildren: Tessa Nichole Sharp, Nicholas Quinton Sharp and Preston Dale Sharp; the mother of his children, Marilyn Joan Hicks; brother, Terry Dale (Sarah) Sharp; sister, Tammy (Jimmy) Lawson; nephew and niece, Derek Lawson and Katy Ott; and many other relatives.
A private service will be held at a later date.
