Larry Bruce Fox, 49, of Helenwood, passed away September 15, 2016, at University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville.
Born Lexington, Kentucky, April 12, 1967, he was preceded in death by grandparents: Willie and Irene Lutes and Joel and Joyce Daugherty; and uncles, Jerry Lutes and Fermon Beard.
He was a born-again Christian and member of Pleasant Grove United Baptist Church. In 1987, he joined the United States Army and became a member of the 160th Special Operations Aviation Regiment (also known as the Night Stalkers) in 1991, and completed several special operation missions until 1999.
He is survived by his parents, Donna and Wayne Daugherty; wife, Mindy Chitwood Fox; children: Hannah (Jacob) King, Colby (Micah) Fox, Seth Carson and Shane Helton; grandchildren: Tucker and Colton King and Lynnie Fox; aunts and uncles: Kathy and Victor Chitwood, Vicky Payne, Judy Weatherman, Jim Lutes, Eugene and Becky Daugherty, Windle Daugherty, Rodney and Pam Davis, Lena May Cross, and Denny and Kathy Daugherty; step-dad, Allan Autrey; cousins: Sidney and Danielle Payne and Brittany Puckett; and many other relatives.
Funeral service was conducted September 18, at White Rock Baptist Church with Bro. Philip Kazee and Bro. Jim West officiating. Graveside service was conducted September 19, at Mossop Memorial Cemetery with full military honors conducted by American Legion Post #136 of Oneida.
