Richard "Dick" Wallbaum, 85, of Oneida, passed away April 15, 2016, at his home.
Born September 8, 1930, he was preceded in death by his parents, George J. and Alice Zachman Wallbaum; and granddaughter, Danielle Dattrich.
He is survived by his wife, Peggy (Davis) Wallbaum of Oneida; daughter: Sherri (Joel) Dix; son, Bruce (Donna) Wallbaum; cousin, Ruth Schirrmann; and many other relatives.
Funeral service was conducted April 19, in the chapel of Four Oaks Funeral Home-Oneida. The family was to have received friends from 10 - 11 a.m. (Central Time), Wednesday, April 20, at Jennings Funeral Home Chapel in Jamestown. Interment was to have followed at Fentress Memorial Gardens with full military honors conducted by American Legion Post #137.

Jerry Dewayne Acres, 55, of Oneida, passed away April 19, 2016, at Pioneer Community Hospital of Scott in Oneida.
Born in Roseburg, Oregon, January 26, 1961, he was preceded in death by his parents, James Arvil Acres and Joyce King Morris; grandson, Jeremiah; and step-father, Fred Morris.
He is survived by his wife, Carolene Thomas Acres of Oneida; grandchildren: Marissa Strunk, Carter Strunk, Trenton Strunk, Emma Strunk and Matthew Strunk; step-children, David Allen Strunk and Derita Evans; brothers, John (Clara) Acres and Fred Morris; and many other relatives.
Memorial service will be held at a later date. His wish was cremation.

Maggie Coomer Billingsley, 100
Maggie Coomer Billingsley, 100, of Cookeville, passed away April 17, 2016.
Born in Jackson County, Tennessee, October 29, 1915, she was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Vallie Brewington Coomer; husband, Leo Billingsley; sister, Doyle Anderson; brothers, Floyd and William Coomer; and son-in-law, Jesse Hale.
She was a resident of Cookeville for the past 40 years. She and her husband raised their family in Gainsboro before moving to Oneida in 1964, then moving to Cookeville in 1978. She cared deeply for her family and didnít hold back in giving honest guidance in the Christian walk. She was industrious, as she was by her husbandís side in business endeavors in Gainsboro and Oneida. She loved quilting and gave quilts to all her grandchildren and also enjoyed the time spent with the quilting groups at church. She was faithful to the Church of Christ through membership during her life at Philadelphia, Oneida, Willow Ave. and Jefferson Ave.
She is survived by her children: Nell (Billy) Johnson and Ruth Hale, both of Hendersonville, Mai (Herb) Smith of Cookeville, David (Janie) Billingsley of Goodlettsville, Patricia Spivey of Madison, and Don (Sylvia) Billingsley of Oneida; 12 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, six great-great-grandchildren, sister, Lola Flatt of Cookeville; church family, and several nieces, nephews, and many other relatives.
Funeral service was conducted April 20, at Jefferson Avenue Church of Christ. Interment followed at Crest Lawn Cemetery.

Elbert "Torch" Chitwood, 88, passed away April 19, 2016, at his home.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Janie Odham Chitwood; brothers: Edward (Laura Bell), Harold, Hobart (Cora), Simp (Edith), and Junior (Sharon); and sisters: Evelyn (Oren), Irene and Lottie.
He was a member of First Baptist Church-Oneida; a veteran of the United States Army, having served in the Korean Conflict; and was retired from Norfolk-Southern Railway.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara Smith Chitwood; daughters, Janie (Jack) Tedder, and Judy (Scott) Griffith; grandchildren, Jason Tedder Jamie Tedder; brother-in-law, Charlie Terry; and many other relatives

Born in Scott County, March 2, 1938, he was preceded in death by his parents, Delmer and Artie Mincie Goad Epperson; wife, Ruby Ellen Goodman Epperson; infant son, Dennie Lee Epperson; grandparents: Jessie and Martha Reagan Epperson and Barry Lee and Amanda Goad; brothers: Roy Lee, Charles Edward, and Donnie Glenn Epperson; sister, Lois Janivee Epperson.
He was of the Christian faith and enjoyed the fellowship of several churches.
He is survived by his children, Kevin Ray (Georgia) Epperson and Tammy Lynn Tyndall; grandchildren: David Michael Epperson, Stephanie Ann Melton, Nicholas Tyndall, Krista Shelton; great-grandchildren: Michael, Ariel, Rubyann, Devin, William, and Chance; sisters, Lillie Mae (Harvey) Hacker and Lola Epperson; and several nieces, nephews and many other relatives.

Born March 8, 1959, she was preceded in death by her father, Arnold Butler; husbands, David McKinney and Joe William Goodman, Jr.; grandparents: Mary and Clyde Taylor, and Lewis and Thelma Butler; brother, Bobby Butler; and niece, Leslie Olinger;

Milford Clayton (Mick) Koger, 77, of Spring Hill, Florida, passed away April 17, 2016.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Gilbert and Evelyn Koger; brothers: Conley, Clifton, Clifford, and Clint Koger, and sister, Irene Koger Hall.
He was a veteran of the United States Army.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Lisa Koger of Spring Hill, Fla.; children: Robert, Linda, Lisa, Michael, Michelle; 12 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, sisters: Cecile Lowe of Oneida, Cora Wright of Spring Hill, Fla., Joan Baker of Hamilton, Ohio, and Colletta Stanley of Palm Beach, Fla.; brother, Charles Koger of Winfield; and many other relatives.
A celebration of life ceremony will be held in Spring Hill, Florida, with arrangements provided by Brewer & Sons Funeral Home. His wish was cremation.

Imogene Keeton Phillips, 87, of Alexandria, Kentucky, formerly of Scott County, passed away April 21, 2016.
Born September 24, 1928, she was preceded in death by her parents, Earnest and Leatha Keeton; husband, Shirlie Leagal Phillips; and sister, Rosemary Terry.
She was a member of Kento-Boo Baptist Church and a prior member of West Covington Baptist Church, and loved working crossword puzzles and shopping at Kroger.
She is survived by her daughters, Jackie (Debbie) Phillips and Terri (Kevin) Bass; sons, Roger (Jane) Phillips and Michael Phillips; six grandchildren, numerous great- and great-great-grandchildren, sister, Madge Lambert; and several nieces, nephews, and many other relatives.

Ron G. Sexton, 66
Ronald (Ron) Gene Sexton, 66, of Vesuvius, Virginia, formerly of Huntsville, passed away April 17, 2016, in ICU at Greenville Memorial Hospital in Greenville, SC, surrounded by his family. He had suffered with pulmonary fibrosis for several years that was recently complicated by influenza and pneumonia.
Born September 3, 1949, he was preceded in death by his parents, June and Geneva Jeffers Sexton; grandparents: Jasper and Laura Chambers Sexton and Garfield and Susie Watters Jeffers; and in-laws, Col. Samuel Sullivan and Jane Chapman Whitt.
He was a graduate of Huntsville High School class of 1967 and Draughons Junior College of Knoxville. He served in the United States Army for two years as a military policeman in Ethopia, and was formerly employed by the U.S Equal Employment Opportunity Commission in Washington, D.C. and Giant Foods in Charlottesville, Va.
He is survived by his wife, Molly Whitt Sexton of Vesuvius, Va.; son, Jonathan ìJonî (Vanessa) Sexton of Pelzer, SC; daughter, Elizabeth (Beth) Giorgini of Huntsville; grandchildren, Molly, Carter and Keira Sexton, all of Pelzer, SC; sisters: Marilyn (Wilson) Wright of Franklin, Nikki Jeffery of Chattanooga, and Vicky Sexton of Oneida; other relatives, Kevin Kirkland of Knoxville, and Jeanetta Jeffers Sharp of Norma; special friends: Rev. James Howard "Jim" Smith, 70, of Oneida, passed away January 13, 2016, at Huntsville Manor Nursing & Rehab Facility in Huntsville.
Born November 12, 1945, he was preceded in death by his parents, Howard H. and Maggie Sells Smith; brother, Frank Sells; and sister, Betty Piercy.
He worked as a Scott County Sheriffís Deputy and in construction; and was a member of Pioneer Baptist Church.
He is survived by his children: James Brian, Valerie, and Holly Joe Smith; grandson, Jacob Smith; sister, Bonnie Collins; brothers: Charles, Hollis, and Dave Smith; and many other relatives.
Memorial service will be conducted at 11 a.m., Saturday, April 30, at Pioneer Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Fairview Cemetery.

Audrey Phyllis Thomas Combs, 84, of Louisville, Kentucky, formerly of Oneida, passed away April 29, 2016.
Born July 7, 1931, she was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Rachel Thomas; husband, William Earl; sons, Donald and Wayne; daughter, Sue Delanoy; and brother, Richard Thomas.
She was a PCA for the former Suburban Hospital in Louisville, Ky.
She is survived by her children: Steve (Karin) Combs, Judy Lombardi, and Sherry (Steve) Duvall; step-daughter, Beatrice Riley; grandchildren: Chris and Tony Lombardi, Reed Van Deusen, Michael and Matthew Delanoy, Shanna Higginbotham, Shelly Morgan, Miche Durall, and Sean and Devin McMullen; great-grandchildren: Kaden, Kenzi, Kalee, Megan, Nicole, and Paige; sisters, Alberta Collier, and Alma Laxton; brothers, Roy (Celia Jo) Thomas and Ray Thomas; and several nieces, nephews and many other relatives.

Allen E. Marcum
Allen Espy Marcum, of Oneida, passed away April 25, 2016.
Born in the Pine Creek community, Oneida, December 4, 1922, he was preceded in death by his parents, Fred and Rosa King Marcum; sister, Audrey Parker; brother, Robert Love Marcum; and in-laws: Ray (Ethel) Dunford, Ruth Dunford, Linda Dunford, Earl Bridges, Bob Dunford, Corwin Dunford, Roy Parker and Harold Rosser.
He professed his faith and trust in his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ many years ago and for years served as deacon and Sunday School teacher and was a member of First Baptist Church-Oneida. At the onset of World War II, he volunteered for duty in the defense of this country. He lived a full and joyous life and was an avid gardener and observer of nature. He worked for many years for the William M. Ritter Lumber Company, its’ affiliates, Red Jacket Coal Corporation and Brimstone Railroad Company, and successor, Georgia Pacific Corporation. He was keenly interested in the work of the Tennessee Farm Bureau and was the last living charter member and and a past president of the Scott County Farm Bureau of Scott County Farm Bureau, and was the first manager of the Scott County Farmers Co-Op.
He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Jean Dunford Marcum of Oneida; daughters, Patricia (Josh) Collins of Salem, SC, and Carol (William, III) Lowe of Martinez, Ga.; sons, Stephen Allen (Carol) Marcum and Michael Fred Marcum, both of Oneida; grandchildren: Amy Milner and Stephen Marcum, both of Charleston, SC, Dr. Marc Collins of Knoxville, Beth Marcum of Atlanta, Ga., Sarah Gedney of Rock Hill, SC, Marc Lowe of Summerville, SC, and Hannah Marcum of Oneida; great-grandson, Carter; sister, Elsie Bridges of Oneida; in-laws: Virginia Rosser of Knoxville, Juanita Dunford of Jamestown, Harold (Dorothy) Dunford of Fentress County, and Gerald Dunford of Alcoa; and several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many other relatives.
A praise and celebration of life service was conducted April 28, at First Baptist Church-Oneida. Interment followed at Sunny View Cemetery.

Jean Ellis Puckett, 86, of Oneida, passed away peacefully, April 25, 2016, at University of Tennessee Medical Center in Knoxville, surrounded by family and loved ones.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Dorothy Phillips Ellis; and husband, John T. Puckett.
She was a member of First Baptist Church-Oneida, a 1947 graduate of Oneida High School, worked at the chamber of commerce during the 1970s and Stride Rite in the Hamilton Place Mall-Chattanooga.
She is survived by her daughter, Judy P. (Dennis) Brown of Riverview, Fla.; son, Monty (Lori) Puckett of Kingsport; grandchildren, Garrison, and Andrea Foster of Northville, Mich.; great-granddaughter, Jade; brother-in-law, Dale (Flonnie) Smith of Oneida; special friends, Mitzi Baxter, and Rena Erwin and family; and several cousins, nieces, nephews, and many other relatives.

Quinton Sharp, 67
Quinton Sharp, 67, of Powell, formerly of Norma, passed away April 24, 2016, at his home.
Born in Scott County, December 13, 1948, he was preceded in death by his parents, Elwood and Rose Mary McDonald Sharp.
He was a member of Norma Missionary Baptist Church, taught for 11 years for the Scott County School System, worked for West Coal Corporation as a bolt machine operator and as a postal contractor for U.S. Postal Service, and served as a Scott County Commissioner in the late 1970s.
He is survived by his children, Leah Renee Sharp of Oneida, and James Elwood Sharp of the Norma community; grandchildren: Tessa Nichole Sharp, Nicholas Quinton Sharp and Preston Dale Sharp; the mother of his children, Marilyn Joan Hicks; brother, Terry Dale (Sarah) Sharp; sister, Tammy (Jimmy) Lawson; nephew and niece, Derek Lawson and Katy Ott; and many other relatives.
A private service will be held at a later date.

Wilda Faye Boyatt, 82, of the Buffalo community, Oneida, passed away May 2, 2016, at Tennova North Knoxville Medical Center.
Born in Oneida, November 14, 1933, she was preceded in death by her parents, Fred C. and Esther West Boyatt; daughter, Darlene Stewart; infant sisters: her twin, Lora Maye, Maude and Anneda, as well as Beulah Ellis and Mildred Cordell; brothers, Earl H. (Chief) and Fred Boyatt, Jr.; nephew, Chuck Hammock; and brothers-in-law, Varoe Ellis and Victory Cordell.
She was employed by HBD Manufacturing, and was a member of Pine Creek United Baptist Church.
She is survived by her sisters, Betty (Charles) Hammock of Oneida, and Wanda (Leo) Woytek of Reno, Nevada; and many other relatives.

Born in Scott County, August 18, 1949, he was preceded in death by his parents, Ulas and Flonnie Cook Duncan; granddaughter, Khloe Alyse Duncan; sister, Brenda (Elmer) Shoopman; brother, Timothy Duncan; and nephew, Bobby Shoopman.
He worked as a farm equipment dealer; and was a member of Morning Star Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Angela (Annette) Crabtree Duncan of Helenwood; children: Michael (Mike) Duncan, Melissa (Missy) Duncan, David Ray Duncan, and Brian Christopher (Nicole) Duncan; grandchildren: Jordan Kelsey Duncan, Haley Jeanette Duncan and Madison Raylann Duncan; brothers: Larry Allen Duncan, Chester (Terri) Duncan, and Lester (Essie) Duncan; sister, Wilma (Joel) Rhodes; closest friend, Marvin (Ashley) Hughett; and several nieces, nephews, and many other relatives.
