Robert C. “Bobby” Duncan, 88, of Oneida, passed away December 6, 2016, at the University of Kentucky Chandler Medical Center in Lexington, Kentucky.
Born in Scott County, October 22, 1928, he was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Orlena Byrge Duncan; first wife, Barbara Taylor Duncan; step-daughter, Nona (Robert) Ball; and step-son-in-law, Darrel Taylor.
He was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, and owned and operated Duncan’s General Store in Strunk, Ky., for more than 70 years.
He is survived by his second wife, Geneva Duncan of Oneida; son, Robert M. (Joanne) Duncan of Inez, Ky.; daughter, Linda Crutchfield of Oneida; grandson, Robert M. Duncan, Jr. of Lexington, Ky.; great-granddaughters, Taylor Ann and Olivia Rae; step-children: Gary (Anna) Baird of Williamsburg, Ky., Gordon (Regina) Baird, Larry (Pansy) Baird, and Wade (Theresa) Baird, all of Strunk, Ky., and Connie Taylor of Nancy, Ky.; 14 step-grandchildren, 23 step-great-grandchildren; and many other relatives.
Funeral service was conducted December 10, in the chapel of Jones & Son Funeral Home with Rev. Philip Kazee and Bro. Gary Campbell officiating. Music was provided by Luther and Rena Pennington, Gary Campbell, Meagan Cowan, and Robin Duncan. Interment followed at Duncan Family Cemetery.
