Erma L. Day, 56

Erma Lou Day, 56, passed away November 22, 2016, following a long fight against cancer at Tennova North Medical Center in Knoxville, surrounded by her family.

Born in Scott County, August 15, 1960, she was preceded in death by her parents, Willard and Essie Lillian Davenport Goodman; grandson, Dante Issom Hembree; brothers: Ronald, Donald, Stanley and Eddie Goodman; and in-laws: Sherman and Anna Mae Day, and Delbert, Robert, Wilbert and Everett Day.

She spent every moment she could, right up to the very last, doing what she loved most, attending her grandchildrens’ activities no matter how small, and reading her Bible. She loved her family and loved spending time with them and always had kind words and a smile for everyone she came in contact with.

She is survived by her husband of 38 years, Dewayne Day; sons, Dewayne Day, Jr. and Henry Day; daughter, Amelia (Ebgert) Hembree; grandchildren: Emily Byrge, Rebecca, Lily, Katie, Olivia and Korbin Day, and Daniel, Andrew, Eli and Rachel Hembree; great-grandson, Bentley; sisters, Vella (Bill) Strunk and Brenda Smith; brothers: Venice, Lonnie, and Donnie Goodman; step-brother, Ray Marlow; in-laws: Cassie Hatfield, Jemima Brown, Chub (Tina) Day, Lois Day and Mary Day; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and many other relatives.

Funeral service was conducted November 26, in the chapel of Four Oaks Funeral Home-Huntsville with Bro. Ashley Ellis and Bro. Jim West officiating. Graveside service was conducted November 27, at Smokey Creek Cemetery.
