Filmore Crabtree, 86, passed away November 1, 2016, at Olathe Medical Center in Olathe, Kansas.
Born in Oneida, June 7, 1930, he was preceded in death by his parents, William “Bill” and Savannah Honeycutt Crabtree; wife, Nell Terry Crabtree; son, Danny W. Crabtree; grandchildren, Matthew Crabtree and Angela Crabtree; brother, Fred Crabtree; and sisters: Jane Bell, Savannah Posey, Flonnia Duncan, Virgie Bauswell, Ferbia Garrett, Florence Dean and Bessie Garrett.
He served his country honorably in the United States Army from 1951-1953 during the Korean War and in the United States Navy from 1958-1962. He worked in the tool and die department for Broderick’s until his retirement in 1992; was a member of Riverview Baptist Church; and enjoyed traveling and spending time with his family.
He is survived by his sons, Steve (Christina) Crabtree of Olathe, Kansas, and Barry (Amy) Crabtree of Dunkirk; grandchildren: Lindsay Crabtree-Robinette, Keith Crabtree and Britney Crabtree; great-granddaughter, Isabella; and several nieces, nephews and many other relatives.
Funeral service was conducted November 5, at The Meeks Mortuary and Crematory with Pastor Dewayne Loveless officiating. Interment followed at Gardens of Memory Cemetery with full military honors conducted by the Veterans of Delaware County.
