Donald Eugene Ford, 69, of Norma, passed away July 30, 2016, at home surrounded by his family.
Born in Morgan County, July 31, 1946, he was preceded in death by his parents, George Tillman Ford and Mary Elizabeth McCann Byrd and her husband, Jr. Byrd; brothers: Glen McCann, Roger Lee McCann, and Landon, Lloyd and Clarence Ford; and special aunt, Lillie Capps.
He was a Vietnam veteran of the United States Army.
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Virgie Lowe Ford of Norma; children: Donna Kaye Ford, Virginia Lynn (Jason) Stephens, and Donald Tillman Ford; grandchildren: Jordan Paige Stephens, Dalton Chase Stephens, Shelby Elizabeth Stephens, Donald Waylon Ford and Bentley Kyle Ford; siblings: George Ford, Larry Byrd, Jerry Byrd, Gladys Garner and Sue (Sam) Humble; and many other relatives.
Funeral service was to have been conducted at 3 p.m., Wednesday, August 3, in the chapel of West-Murley Funeral Home with Bro. Carlie Duncan and Bro. Jeff Watson officiating. Music was to have been provided by George Byrd, Linda Day, and Jimmy and Sarah Byrd. Interment was to have followed at Union Grove Cemetery in Morgan County with full military honors conducted by American Legion Post #136 of Oneida.
